  2. Dear Ms Kant
I’ve just heard your contribution to the Ottoman history podcast (December 2012) in which you discussed Indian troops in Mesopotamia and Ottoman PoWs in Burma. I am an Australian historian and am working on books on the Indian experience of the Gallipoli campaign and on the Armenian genocide (that’s two different books, I emphasise).
I was interested by you comments about prisoners of war describing Armenian refugees on the roads – that’s exactly the sort of evidence I’ve been seeking. I’d also be interested in your observations on Indian prisoners of the Ottomans (though as far as I can tell only two Indians (actually Gurkhas) were captured on Gallipoli.
As it happens, I’m just about to leave for 7 weeks in India, among other things researching the Gallipoli book, but I’d very much like to hear from you. Could I ask you to e-mail me at p.stanley@adfa.edu.au and perhaps we could discuss where our interests coincide?
    Thank you
    Sincerely
    Prof. Peter Stanley
